The Benefits of Tai Chi/Qigong

Increase Your Energy, Improve Health, and Calm Body and Mind

That’s what Qigong/Tai Chi did for me and it will do for you too!

There are many different styles of this practice and it is as old as Yoga, yet has been lesser known in the West but is now growing in popularity.

The word Chi (pronounced chee)  or Qi (pronounced kee) means ‘life force energy’ which is within us and surrounds us. So Qigong/Tai Chi is defined as the ‘practice’ or ‘cultivation’ of that life force energy.

The Classes I run weekly, on a Wednesday morning from 10:00am to 11:00am, at Equilibrium Natural Health Centre, Corsham are beneficial to overall health and wellbeing, and use a series of gentle individual movements, which are suitable for people of all ages and abilities; and they move your ‘life force energy’ in a way that will revitalise you and help you to experience harmony in your whole being.

I have been doing this practice for over twenty years now and still find it a wonderful aid to maintaining harmony in body and mind.

The benefits are many and varied but include:-

  • Increase energy ♦ improve cardiovascular ♦ respiratory and lymphatic functions ♦ reduce stress and ‘mind overload’ ♦ enhance the immune system ♦ build stamina and strengthen balance as well as providing the experience of deep relaxation and calm.

So – as they say ‘what’s not too like’ !!

I’ve been attending Jennie’s Tai Chi/Qigong sessions for a few months now and can really feel the difference. It’s a calming, energising and balancing practice, and Jennie is a natural teacher. Highly recommended.
