What is it?
A Foot Heath Practitioner's role is to support and advise the individual in maintaining their feet to a good standard. Posture and the way we walk (our gait) combined with wearing ill-fitting footwear can result in hard skin, corn formation, and damaged, brittle nails. A Foot Health Practitioner can treat these conditions and help to reduce or prevent their re-occurrence and associated pain and discomfort.
How does it Work?
Cutting toe nails, removing corns and generally keeping the feet groomed and maintained requires some skill and specialist tools. The Foot Health Practitioner is able to do this, by using specialist tools to gently pare away any corns or hard skin due to excessive pressure. To improve the appearance of brittle nails, a burr can be used to file them. Organic, natural oils are used to treat fungal infections.

How many treatments will I need?
This will depend on the general condition of the feet, and will be discussed during the initial consultation. The patient's desire to maintain good foot maintenance will also affect the regularity of future treatments.
