Nicola brings her own yoga and healing experiences to her teaching, encouraging and supporting the individual to become self-aware and find inner peace. She is inspired by Sivananda & Anusara yoga styles, training with Naomi Seager, and Charlotta Martinus. Nicola is a Yoga Alliance UK Registered Teacher.
Nicola initially turned to yoga to relieve stress and tension. With two young children and working as an accountant, yoga provided a quiet haven, somewhere to stretch, relax and feel nurtured. Savasana (Corpse pose) was a favourite pose. Total relaxation, letting go of all that has been, and all that might be. Just being in the here and now. That mindfulness, of being here and now, has been highly influential in Nicola’s yoga journey.
Through her own experience, she has found that the body holds emotions, fears and patterns of behaviour. By aligning the body and using breath work, these fears and emotions can be uncovered, exposed for what they truly are, allowing us to move gently into a more peaceful state.
With a background in classical ballet and a BA in Dance, Nicola’s classes are fluid and flowing, with emphasis on alignment. Nicola teaches yoga as a moving meditation, with an uninterrupted flow of breath, mindfulness and concentration.
